In the past 24th of May I was at the Design Doctoral Conference in IADE - Universidade Europeia, Lisbon, to present a paper that I wrote with Professor Nelson Pinheiro and my colleague Clarissa Alves. It is titled The Gaze of Culture and Communication: Strategic analysis of consumption and trends and it will be available soon in the annals of the event.
The paper explores the articulation of three cultural analysis approaches in order to provide data and insights that can be applied at a strategic level to generate and design better solutions – in terms of communication, product design and others – for consumtion collectives. The attention to concepts and methods within the Humanities and Social Studies helps to map a set of practices that can add value to trend analysis, business practices and strategic thinking.
